The EQUALS Initiative – RCPI & HSE

The EQUALS Initiative is a joint collaboration between RCPI and the HSE and is based on the following goals: Sourcing and donating good quality equipment which becomes freely available from Irish hospitals to hospitals in Zambia, in response to local need. Today, the remit of the EQUALS Initiative has developed to also include the provision of training support for clinical staff and biomedical engineers.

 Goals:

  • Sourcing and donating good quality equipment which becomes freely available from Irish hospitals to hospitals in Zambia, in response to local need
  • Building healthcare services in Zambia
  • Supporting the training of biomedical engineers
  • Developing postgraduate medical training
